Prayer Request from Leigh Anne Shields: B.J. Benton – His wife Beth will be having surgery on her neck again next Monday, August 8th, at Gwinnett Medical Center. The procedure done in October of last year has failed. The planned corrective procedure will be to make both an anterior and posterior approach to stabilize the cervical spine with new rods, screws, wire and bone grafts where needed between C2 and C7 levels. The surgeon told us yesterday that he has blocked out the whole day for the procedure, so it is a very involved and risky surgery. Please pray for steady hands for the surgical team, and for God’s protection over her during the surgery and recovery. We anticipate she will be in the hospital for 2-4 days depending on how well she responds. I’ll let you know whether she is up to any visitors later in the week after she makes it through the first 24 hours.
